First, tell us about yourself!  Where are you from, what do you do, how many kiddos do you have, etc.

I’m from New York City and have been living in Miami for 25 years. I have three beautiful children, ages 8, 5, and 3. When I’m not momming I am telling stories. I am the co-host for NBC’s 6 In The Mix, Monday- Friday at 11:30am. I fought breast cancer in 2017 and I’m thriving one day at a time.

You are a true boss mom - in your own words, tell us what boss mom means to you.

Definition of a true boss mom is a mom.  I’ve experienced both sides of the coin when it comes to being a working mom and a stay at home mom. Being a stay at home mom is the hardest job I’ve ever had. Being a working mom you have to deal with balance and mother’s guilt. At the end of the day, women are the only ones that understand how difficult it is to be a woman. Taking care of so many different components in our lives, our family, and rembering to take care of ourselves is truly being a woman which equals being a boss mom.

What are three things you do to balance working mom life?

I devote so much time to my kids when I’m not working but there are three things I do to keep myself afloat. Workout, girls night out once a month, and being my husband's girlfriend.

What did you give up to get where you are today? What did you have to sacrifice?

I feel it’s all in moderation. There have been times that I’ve given up on job opportunities, and outings because of family dynamics but I also believe in what’s meant to be is meant to be. I don’t look at them as sacrifices but more as if they weren’t meant to be.

If you had any advice for first time working moms, what would it be?

Do what feels right to you. Listen to other people but go with your gut. Parenting doesn’t come with a handbook and kids are good at going with the flow. Do what feels right.

Okay tell us...one mom you follow, one podcast you listen to, one blog you read...what boss mom out there is inspiring you right now?

I follow so many women and love to support our gender. I can’t name one, there are so many inspiring and empowering women.

Who is one woman in your life that has helped you?  What did she do?

I owe a lot to women before me. In journalism, it could be rough for women. I’ve had so many that have helped me see things and learn to accept what I can’t control.

What is something you have failed at in this journey of motherhood and working?

Patience. That patience thing is killing me. I count to 10- but there are days I barely make it to three.

At We Are Boss Mom, we know we can't do this without support, community and cheerleaders.  Who is your #1 fan and what do you want to say to him/her?

My mom. She came to this country in her early 20’s, met my father fell in love and got married. They had two kids and she worked for everything we had. I had everything and she did it alone after getting divorced. She relocated to Miami and worked double to give us a good life. I’m grateful for her and she is the best example of a fighter. I learned to fight because of her.

Finally, what is the one quote you live by?

You may not be able to control every situation and it’s outcome, but you can control your attitude and how you deal with it.
